Surrounded by family, Wally passed away on November 21, 2016 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 81. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Melba of 59 years, daughter Leslie, and sons Kerry (Wanda) and Douglas, grandchildren Cameron, Kendra, Lindsey (Colin), Carleen (Logan) and Miles. He is survived by his sisters Elsie and Margaret and brother Glenn (Claudette), sisters-in-law Arlie (Jim), Vivian and Evelyn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Tillie, brother Ernie, brother-in-law Marshall and son-in-law Bruce. Wally was born in Minitonas, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1951. He spent many years in the Canadian Armed Forces both in the military and as a civilian, retiring in 1990. A celebration of Wally’s life will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, 1 – 452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4 or to a charity of your choice.
