The true measure of love is to love without measure. Teya’s sudden passing of natural causes on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013 at the tender age of 14 years has been like a lifequake to all those who knew and loved her.

How does one begin to capture the essence of Teya Anne Patrice. A petite, vibrant beauty with enchanting green eyes that lit up like diamonds. A cosmic burst of love coming at you from all directions filling up every space in the room. An absolute riot with all her facial expressions and random impressions complete with verbal accents that made you roar with laughter until your sides hurt. A fiercely loyal friend who found goodness and kindness and worth in everyone. A self-taught artist with an exceptional ability to capture expression and feeling in her newly discovered enjoyment of pencil portrait sketching. A vivid imagination with an eye for photography that could take the mundane and make it extraordinary. A natural talent on the piano and a gifted composer of music. An angelic singing voice that could reduce you to tears with its passion and glory - especially when she thought no one was listening. A humble soul who regularly dismissed all of her talents as just so-so. A social butterfly who spent hours interacting online with friends and friends of friends. Teya always had a friend to talk to and others waiting to get in on the chat. She was the best snuggler and hug-giver around. Teya touched your heart, lifted your soul and made you want to be a better person.

Teya had just graduated from Linden Meadows School in June and had embraced the start of her 9th Grade at Shaftsbury High School with such enthusiasm. Teya’s true gift was her love for people and her belief in the intrinsic worth and dignity of every human being. She aspired to become a social worker to help lessen the troubles of the world and ease the burden of anyone who may be suffering. We have no doubt that she will continue to encourage us and touch our lives with her spiritual presence.

The legacy of Teya’s love will be forever cherished by her parents, Tracey and Lawrence Ramsay, dearest brother Tyson Ramsay and beloved dog Bella; grandparents John Bellin and Pat and Larry Ramsay. Also left to mourn her passing are her aunts and uncles - Duane (Barb) Bellin, Sheryl (Tom) O’Quinn, Shelley (Paul) McLean, Lisa (Ken) Kroker and cousins - Shawn and Kaylee Bellin, Lindsay (Josh) Loeppky, David McLean, Kent (Kaci) Kroker, Brett (Brittany) Kroker and Holly Kroker. Teya is now reunited in heaven with her precious Nana, Annie Bellin, who left us in 2001.

Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Firefighters from Station 12, the Paramedics and everyone in the Children’s ER for their expert care. A special thank you to the NICU girls for taking the time to give us a special gift that we will always treasure. To Teya’s Piano teacher, Chris, our eternal thanks for guiding her love of music and song and making her realize that last evening just how good she was. Our gratitude also to Kaitlyn, who held Teya and told her she was loved and that her mom was on the way. Our deepest thanks for the outpouring of support and love from our families, friends, Teya’s friends and everyone who has reached out to us in kindness.

In lieu of flowers and to honour Teya’s passion for supporting her friends and classmates, donations can be made to Shaftesbury High School’s Student Support Centre. Teya would love for us to furbish a place at the school where kids can sit and talk and help each other out. And please honour her always by extending an act of kindness toward one another.

Please join us in a celebration of Teya’s life on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Teya, never forget how much you are loved. All the stars in Heaven could never shine as bright as you.
