(Siegfried) Lloyd Wittmeier
1932-2016

It is with sadness the family announces Lloyd’s passing at Calvary Place Personal Care Home in Winnipeg at the age of 84.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Robin (Brad), Bonnie (Jim), Lynette (Ron), and Deanna (Scott); grandchildren Brooklyn, Carter, Samuel, Matthew, Adam, Kaitlyn, and Benjamin; five sisters, Mildred, Irma, Darlene, Joyce, and Sharon and one brother, Gerry as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was predeceased by Leanna, his beloved wife of 46 years, his parents, John and Christine, his infant sister, Dorothea and his brother Gilbert.

Dad was born in Stead, Manitoba, grew up on the family farm and moved to Winnipeg to seek employment in the city. He worked in the garment industry at Bonwitt Manufacturing, Gemini Fashions, and as the Shipping/Receiving Manager at Freed & Freed International where he was highly respected and appreciated by the staff.
Dad was a man of few words and was best known for his big smile and sense of humour. He had a strong faith and was active in his church communities. He enjoyed playing the horn in the German Immanuel Pentecostal Church band and then was a long time member and usher at Calvary Temple Church.
Dad had tremendous love for his family and would do anything for them. He was a huge fan and cheerleader of his children and grandchildren and was very proud of them. Dad built the family cottage on Lake of the Woods where many happy memories were made. Everyone enjoyed summers and weekends together on the island.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Calvary Place for their compassion and care for Dad. We are at peace knowing that he is now with his Lord and Saviour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Place Personal Care Home (204.943.4424; 1325 Erin St, Winnipeg, MB R3E 3R6), or to a charity of your choice.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Calvary Temple (Buntain Chapel), 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, MB with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating; viewing will occur before the service at 10:30.
