<div itemprop="description">Ramon Zelech <br> <br>We sadly announce the passing of Ramon Zelech at St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care, Winnipeg, on November 27, 2016. <br> <br>Ramon is survived by his aunts and cousins. <br> <br>Ramon was throughout his life an educator, teacher, writer, and business consultant, who insisted that only “correct language was acceptable when it comes to writing”. Ramon graduated in 1952 with Bachelor of Arts and in 1957 with Bachelor of Pedagogy from the University of Manitoba, Bachelor of Education from University of British Columbia in 1959 and Master of Arts from University of Toronto in 1965. <br> <br>Ramon lived and worked in most parts of Canada; namely, British Columbia, the Prairie Provinces, Ontario, Québec, the Northwest Territories as teacher, teacher educator and a social worker. As UNESCO Expert in Social studies and Education he took assignments in Afghanistan and Zambia for several years. Ramon has travelled extensively in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, East and South Africa, East, South and Central Asia. <br> <br>Ramon was a linguist and proved his love for language by knowing 13 languages (English, French, Polish, Latin, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Farsi, Urdu, Chibemba, Kiswahili and Nepali) fluent, good or at beginner’s level. Ramon also engaged himself in various recreational and productive activities such as writing, photography, coin and stamp collecting, cooking, camping, trekking, fishing, swimming, curling, chess, bridge. <br> <br>Ramon also stood as an icon for style who always dressed appropriately for the occasion. He had been a special friend to many including several students who he mentored while writing thesis or other manuscripts. We all will miss Ramon immensely. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Saint Andrew Bobola Parish, 541 Marion Street, Winnipeg. <br> <br></div>
