Peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017, Oliver passed away at the Misericordia Health Centre.
Oliver was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, son Marshall and sister Clarice “Sis”.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son Lance (Lise), step-daughter Faridat (Efa), daughter-in-law Carol, and grandchildren Drew, Jana, Greg, Jeremy, Sam, Efa Jr., Daniel (Kaitlyn), and Shireen as well as Vera and his brothers Clarence (Bernice), Rob “Jug”, and Morris “Sap”.
Oliver was born in Nashville, Tennessee and moved to Winnipeg in 1946 to work for CP Rail. After retiring from CP Rail in 1960, he joined the Winnipeg Transit as a bus driver. After many years of proud and dedicated service, he retired from the WinnipegTransit in 1992. In 1976 he married Evelyn and they enjoyed many years of travelling the world, discovering new places and enjoying friends and family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB
