She is also survived by her brother Edwin of Portland, Oregon and sister Julie of Brandon, Manitoba.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved son David, sister Lillian and brothers George, Bill and Ron.

Mary was born in the village of Beeding, West Sussex, England and maintained a deeply felt attachment to her homeland. She loved England – it was her heart’s home! Mum came to Canada as a young war bride in 1946 settling in Winnipeg with her husband Dave and raising their 3 children, Wendy, Bonnie and Davie. In later years she returned ‘home’ many times and loved to reminisce.

Mum spent many happy summers at the family cottage at Malachi, Ontario. Whether by train, boat or car, it was always worth the effort to enjoy lake time with her family and special lake friends.

Mum’s greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She proudly celebrated their academic accomplishments and was their #1 fan for every sporting event.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at Vista Park Lodge for their compassion and care of Mum during the past two years.

A Celebration of Mum’s Life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7
