She was predeceased by her husband John Patterson Young (1921-2010), parents and siblings.

Missed and survived by: her son John Young (Sandy), granddaughter Michelle Young (Mario), parents of her great-grandson Michael Nucci, and Michael’s maternal grandmother Grace Carriere, Michael’s paternal grandparents Emilio and Teresa Nucci and Michael’s great-grandmother Maria Albi. Also fondly remembered and missed by her nieces, nephews, dear friends and the staff of Seine River Retirement.

Lee lived in Winnipeg, Mb, and in retirement years, along with loving husband John, devoted their time to great-grandson Michael with many day trips around the province, visits to the zoo, provincial parks, feeding geese, and teaching him to skate on the pond in Kildonan Park. Lee was an avid collector of Royal Doulton, enjoyed knitting, an animal lover, and made the best perogies and rhubarb pie anyone could imagine.

Graveside service was held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Chapel Lawn. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to choice of Winnipeg Humane Society or CancerCare Society in memory of Lee Young.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff on floor 5 unit 1 of the Seven Oaks Hospital and extra thank you to nurse Connie for the extra effort she took in compassion and care. The staff of Seine River Retirement Home for the caring hearts and helping hands.

“To my dearest family, something I’d like to say, but first of all to let you know, I arrived here okay.

I have joined my husband in heaven, we dwell with God above. Here there is no more tears of sadness, just eternal love.

The day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and said I welcome you.”
