Left to mourn his passing are his brother Jack (Darlene); nephew Colin (Jennifer) Crolly; niece Allison (Ken Dessler) Crolly; nieces and nephews, Aiyana, Georgina, Isaac and Jake; and numerous friends and extended family. Ken was predeceased by his son Jason Crolly, and his parents, Jack and Florence Crolly.

Ken was born and raised in Winnipeg. He became a professional plumber and pipe fitter who worked on pipelines and in the “oil Patch” in and around Fort McMurray, Alberta. Ken was known for always having a joke to share, a beer in hand, and an offer to help anyone in need. His plumbing skills were in great demand and he was always quick to help his many acquaintances and family members who requested his assistance, often asking nothing more in return than a beer and a meal.

He was an avid golfer, enjoying many games with his son Jason over the years. The golf combined with his enjoyment of fishing provided Ken and those around him, with many hours of pleasure. He loved a good time, and even more so the stories that came of it. Ken’s friends meant the world to him and many of his friendships spanned decades. He was not one to let go of a friendship, and never stopped caring about anybody.

A gentle soul, the loss of both his son and mother this past year had been a great burden to Ken.

A combined celebration of the lives of Ken and Jason Crolly will be held at Chapel lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Interment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Jason Crolly

Jason Crolly passed at the age of 36 years, on February 13, 2016 following a short illness. His passing at the Health Sciences was a peaceful one, surrounded by family and friends. Jason was survived by his father Ken Crolly, grandmother Florence Crolly, uncle and aunt Jack and Darlene Crolly, and cousins Colin (Jennifer) Crolly and Allison (Ken Dessler) Crolly. Jason has also been mourned by his many friends, particularly in the skateboarding community which he loved so much. Jason was predeceased by his mother Linda Crolly, and his grandparents Bryce and Agnes Fergusson, and Jack Crolly Sr.
Jason lived his life to the fullest, but he was never so alive, as when he was on a skateboard. He took up skateboarding as a young boy and worked at it until he exceled at the sport. For a period, he received sponsorships from manufacturers and traveled across North America and Europe, competing and demonstrating skateboarding to fans. This passion for skateboarding never left him.
Jason’s other passion in life was golf, and he was never known to turn down a chance for a round, whatever the weather. On occasion he would drag others (especially his father), kicking and screaming onto the golf course in the midst of a rain or snow storm, because he did not want to miss a chance at “one more round”.
A combined celebration of the lives of Ken and Jason Crolly will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
