<div itemprop="description">Katherine Toews <br>August 20, 1940 to November 13, 2016 <br> <br>It is with sadness we announce that Katherine (Kathy) Toews, aged 76 years, passed away at the Grace Hospital ICU, on Sunday, November 13, 2016, with her husband, Bill, her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Jason Trowbridge, grand-daughter Brittany Trowbridge and daughter-in-law Melissa Toews at her side. <br> <br>Kathy was born August 20, 1940, the oldest of 9. She grew up in the Lowe Farm area, west of Morris. From 1959 – 1962 she took her Registered Nurse’s training at the Grace Hospital on Arlington Street in Winnipeg. <br> <br>Kathy and Bill were married on May 26, 1963. They celebrated their 53rd anniversary in May of this year. They enjoyed working together for God’s kingdom with Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years, plus fellowshipping at the Maranatha Church for 39 years. Kathy loved teaching children about God’s love. <br> <br>She loved her family, traveling, reading, palm trees, flowers, Chinese food, politics, and her nursing alumni friends. <br> <br>Kathy was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the spring of 2016 and suffered complications following surgery on October 20th. This was very difficult for her family. <br> <br>She leaves her sweetheart, Bill, 1 son, Kevin & Melissa Toews, 1 daughter, Tammy & Jason Trowbridge, 5 grandchildren, Alyssa (Toews) Harding, Corey Toews, and Kristian Kiesman, Miranda (Trowbridge) Durston and Brittany Trowbridge as well as 1 great grandson, Dustin Harding. <br> <br>We’d like to thank the ICU staff at Winnipeg Grace Hospital for their compassion and care. <br> <br>Her beautiful smile will be missed. So, to Kathy we say, not “Goodbye” but “So long”. You will be in our hearts forever. <br> <br>The memorial service for Kathy will be held on Saturday, November 26th at 10:30am in the Maranatha Evangelical Free Church on 910 Sturgeon Road in St James. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Manitoba <br>179 Henderson Highway or to Maranatha Evangelical Free Church 910 Sturgeon Road. <br></div>
