<div itemprop="description">Linda Elias – Stevens. <br> <br>Peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 Katherine Linda Elias passed away. <br> <br>She is survived by her devoted husband Edward Stevens, stepchildren Sherri (Reg), Clinton (Laura), grandchildren Steffan, Bret, Taylor, Nicholas, Kaylee, Abby, Ben, Dorian, and Torran. Sisters Irene (Ernie) Anema, Carol (Bernard) Burch, brothers Art (Val), Bob (Denise), Jack (Maria), sister-in-law Maureen Melvin-Elias, nephews Richard, Colin (Kyla), nieces Jacklynn, Susan, Christina, and best pal Jeff Sveinson. <br> <br>She is predeceased by her parents George and Helen (nee Wieler) Elias, her brother Jim, sister-in-law Irene (nee Wintoniak) and nephew David. <br> <br>Linda was born September 7, 1951 in Winkler. She got Polio at an early age and spent most of her childhood in the Shriner Hospital. She could walk and climb stairs until she got older when she would get around with crutches and a scooter. <br> <br>She loved going to the kids sports games, helping when she could, and enjoyed being with the grandkids. <br> <br>She worked many years with Revenue Canada and her Dad and Brother’s company Elias Truck Services. She retired early because of back problems. <br> <br>Residing in her country home with her husband in St. Andrews and cottage at Matlock for a retreat. Moving later to a condo in Winnipeg for the winter months and went back to the cottage for the summer months. <br> <br>Linda was also a 25 year breast cancer survivor. After surviving cancer Linda and Ed took many winter holidays. <br> <br>The family would like to thank the Selkirk Hospital for their care and compassion. <br> <br>A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. <br></div>
