Jesus De Guzman
January 17, 2017
Jesus De Guzman Sr. (Ador, Amang), 100, passed into the hands of our Lord, peacefully, surrounded by his children on January 17, 2017.
Preceded by his loving wife of 60 years, Apolinaria (Poleng), he leaves his children Leonardo-Maximina (deceased), Aguida-Aurelio (deceased), Pepito-Teresita, Restituto-Vicitasion, Lucila, Renato-Editha, Leonida, and Jesus Jr. along with 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Born in the Philippines, December 25, 1916. Married in 1942. Ador and Poleng started their family in the Philippines. In 1980, they would follow their eldest daughter, Aguida, with Lucila, Leonida and Jesus Jr. to immigrate to Canada. Together, Ador and Poleng, would share their time between their beloved Philippines and their home in Winnipeg.
Dedicating his life to his family and friends. Ador was always active in the lives of his family, helping raise his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was never far from his toolbox, helping his many friends with their building projects. When he did not have a tool in his hand, he could be found in the garden or at a billiard table.
A century building a family, a century making amazing friends. Ador was loved by all that met him.
Lamay will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 11:30 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington Avenue, Winnipeg
