Frank Ross Leslie
November 10, 1930 – November 23, 2016

On November 23 Frank passed away at the age of 86, living with dementia for the past decade. His loving wife Verna, daughters Colleen (Steve), Loreen (Barry), and grandchildren Nikki, Dane, Skylar and Josh, will always remember his deep love, zest for music, love of family time, vibrant sense of humour and passion for fun. He is survived by his brother Stuart and wife Lois, Alan Adams, Jack and Alva Gardiner and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Ruth (Wilbord) and Jean (Robert), brother Grant (Lois), niece Leslie Ann, nephew David, and in-laws Florence, Sheila and Ernie. Born and raised in Norwood Grove, he was the son of Walter Alexander and Alice Grant Leslie. Throughout his life, Frank was an active member of Norwood United Church. Before retiring in 1986, Frank was employed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for 35 years and was an ardent advocate of CBC. Frank treasured his friends, many of whom have passed on. He had a thirst for knowledge, enjoyed all sports, was a loyal Bombers fan, and was often viewing a TV, listening to a radio and reading a newspaper simultaneously. He and Jack, “The Music Makers”, were popular pioneers in the Winnipeg recorded music scene and loved to get a crowd up dancing. Cremation has taken place; a private ceremony will be held. Many thanks to the compassionate staff at River Park Gardens, especially, Rick and Kashmir. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
