ERNEST TOOTH

It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ernest (Ernie) Tooth at the age of 92.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Georgia; son-in-law Rob Wade (Margo McLaren); sons David Tooth (Irene Wallis) and Les Tooth; daughter Lorraine Endler (Marvin); grandchildren Corinne Cvitkovic (Mark), Christine Wade, Brent Tooth, Michael Tooth, Robert Tooth, Madison Tooth and Elizabeth Tooth.
Dad was predeceased by his daughter Kim Wade and daughters-in-law Evelyn Tooth and Laurie Tooth.
Dad was born in Winnipeg in 1924 to John and Rose Tooth and grew up in Charleswood. In 1943, he enlisted with the R.C.A.F. earning his Sergeant stripes; later discharged in 1945. On his return to Winnipeg, Dad went to work at the Manitoba Telephone System where he retired in 1981.
Dad married the love of his life in 1951. Ernie and Georgia started their family and built their first home themselves on Collegiate Street in St James. When the family continued to grow, they moved to a larger home on River Oaks Drive. Dad and Mom did everything together; raising their four children, volunteering at the community club, enjoying drives and picnics in the country, travelling throughout North America, caring for their beautiful gardens, golfing and surrounding themselves with family and friends. In retirement, Dad remained active with the MTS Pioneers repairing talking books for the hearing impaired, building coloring desks for the neighborhood kids and helping his brother with his coat check business.

Dad will always be remembered for his gentle disposition, wonderful smile and love of his family.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Tuxedo Villa for the care and compassion they showed to our Dad.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice in Dad’s memory.
