<div itemprop="description">Beulah Mary Cooper <br>(nee Whitelock) <br> <br>On March 7, 2017 at the age of 96 years 5 months, Beulah Mary Cooper of Winnipeg passed away at the Misericordia Place Personal Care Home. <br> <br>She leaves to mourn her three daughters, Lynn (Robb) Mann of Kemptville, Ont., Heather (John) Verhoef, and Terry Andrada; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Mann of Kemptville, Ont., Brian Keith, Deborah (Jay) Marchuk, Cassandra (Trevor) Viznaugh, Janet (Lonal) Van of Minneapolis, MN; 4 great grandchildren Steven and Eric Marchuk and Meila and Ava Viznaugh as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also a loving mother to 26 foster children. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Eric Cooper in 1987, grandson David Mann in 1974, brother Menzie Whitelock, sister Esme Trotter, son-in-law Dan Andrada and nephew Ron Whitelock. <br> <br>She was born in Kelwood, Manitoba on September 24, 1920 where she completed her schooling before attending Normal School to receive her teaching certificate. <br> <br>Mom was a school teacher and taught from September 1941 to June of 1947 in several small country schools. It was when she was teaching in Winnipegosis that she met Dad. During the school year she boarded with Dad’s parents, our grandparents and got to know him through the letters that he wrote home to his parents during the war. <br> <br>She stopped teaching to become a full time mother and wife. After her children were grown she volunteered for a short time at Principal Sparling School and then taught at the Work Shop for the Mentally Challenged – Arc Industries. <br> <br>Mom started bowling twice a week at Polo Park Lanes starting in 1980 and bowled for several years, stopping in 2014 when she found the bowling balls getting a bit too heavy. <br> <br>During her retirement, Mom and Dad spent summers travelling in their motor home across Canada. <br> <br>Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment to follow. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Camping Association Sunshine Fund, 1139 Sanford Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 3A1 <br> <br></div>
