<div itemprop="description">Alice Menzies <br>February 23, 1922 - March 5, 2017 <br> <br>Alice passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2017 at the age of 95, with her loving daughter Sandra, son-in-law Bob and niece Heather by her side. <br> <br>Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sandra and son-in-law Bob, her loving niece Heather, grandchildren Cameron (Nicole), Sean (Dana), Vanessa (Brent), 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Gene Menzies and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Scotland. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her husband Robert Lloyd, son Ian Robert, parents Margaret and <br>Robert, sister Rita and brother William, brothers-in-law Joseph, Edward, John, William and <br>Morley, and sisters-in-law Yvonne, Olive, Ethel, Margaret and Anne. <br> <br>Alice was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. During the Second World War, she met and married the love of her life Robert Lloyd Menzies who was serving in the Canadian Army. After the war they established themselves in Winnipeg where they raised their family. <br> <br>During their 63 years of marriage Alice and Lloyd enjoyed many trips overseas to visit with family and friends. During their retirement years they travelled extensively, especially enjoying travelling to Holland with their daughter for the 50th anniversary of the liberation. They also spent many winters in Texas dancing, golfing and making many new friends. <br> <br>Since 2011, Alice resided at Seine River Retirement Residence where she made many dear friends and enjoyed participating in numerous events and activities. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff who made Alice's life there so enjoyable, and for the kindness and support of her special friend Nancy. <br> <br>My mother lived her life with charm, grace, kindness and style. I am forever grateful for being blessed having this incredible woman for my Mother. <br> <br>A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Flowers are gratefully declined.
